​This department examines the role of journalism in modern society and how information is created, shared, and evaluated across today’s media landscape. The courses introduce the content behind reporting, media literacy, fact‑checking, sourcing, and the ethical foundations that guide trustworthy journalism. Students explore how journalism has evolved, how digital and social platforms shape public communication, and how news stories are constructed from interviews, research, and verification. The five courses below study the concepts that define responsible reporting and the importance of accuracy in an age of constant information.
